Federal Board on Geographic Names

TBD | Zoom Meeting

The Colorado Geographic Naming Advisory Board recommended renaming Mount Evans as Mount Blue Sky on November 17, 2022! Their recommendation will be passed on to Governor Polis, who will make the official renaming recommendation on behalf of Colorado to the Federal Board on Geographic Names. The BGN will decide whether Mount Evans should be renamed and what the new name should be.

Tell Decision-Makers You Support Mount Blue Sky

Decision-makers need to know that the Colorado community supports the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes proposal to rename Mount Evans to Mount Blue Sky. We encourage you to reach out to them via email, phone, or our action page. Whether in your letter or during your phone call, remember to let them know your city, county, and state of residency, along with tribal affiliations if applicable. If you know of others in Colorado who would like to express support for Mount Blue Sky, please share the link with them.

Mestaa'ėhehe Coalition
